Master’s Work in Kansas City: Building a Firm Foundation

“The Divine, having infinite capacity for doing good in His own creation, expects His children, made in His own Image, to do more than they think they can do. Think, after a few years how many will walk and work in Kansas City and Los Angeles and India after Lynn and Yogananda are gone.”*

Inspired by the divine example of Rajarsi Janakananda (James J. Lynn), who helped Master establish SRF through both his financial support and his ideal life, the Kansas City Meditation Group has established the Firm Foundation Fund to support three projects: the mortgage payoff, the permanent altar, and the parking lot replacement.  We invite you to join us in supporting the new chapel and property as a permanent home for Guruji’s family in Kansas City and surrounding Midwestern states.

The Firm Foundation Fund Goal: $250,000 over the next 24 months

Donations received in response to this appeal will be deposited into our local bank account and will be used as outlined above. Funds received beyond $250,000 will be set aside for future improvement projects to be determined by the Managing Council.

Grateful Hearts Thank You – Winter 2018

Dear Friends,

Our Guru once said: “This is God’s work. I give it all to Him, and I know He will take care of our needs. You will see, He will inspire others to help spread this message of truth.” It has been wonderful to find these words of Master being fulfilled through the generosity of all the donors to the Firm Foundation Fund over the past two years.

In this final update, we want to share with you photos that represent the three projects you have helped complete.

The mortgage on our building and property was paid in full on its due date! Our group celebrated this significant milestone with the burning of the mortgage at our annual picnic last fall.

The treasured Encinitas Temple altar was lovingly installed in our chapel this fall. Our meditation space has been transformed by its beauty and the vibrations of forty years of devotion by devotees. And our group is very happy that our previous altar found a new home with the Colorado Springs Meditation Group.

The new parking lot project got underway this fall, is fully funded and will be completed in the spring of 2019.

A heartfelt thank you to all of you who have helped place Master’s work in Rajarsi’s home town on a firm foundation for generations to come.

In divine friendship, Kansas City Meditation Group
