Projector & Screen Appeal

Dear Friends,

We are pleased to report that our fundraising goal of $8,700 for our projector and screen project has been achieved! This includes successfully gaining the full $2,000 matching gift that we told you about in our last email.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who donated so generously, and to all those who added their prayers for our success.

We are now working on getting the equipment on order. We expect to have it all installed and functioning within the next couple of months.

We should definitely have this new system in place well before the Self-Realization Fellowship monastics visit Kansas City in early August to share Convocation events with our group.

Thank you all again for your generosity and prayers!

“Could you or anyone else achieve God communion through yoga if a line of generous-hearted masters had not been willing to convey their knowledge to others: God is the Honey, organizations are the hives; both are necessary.  Any form is useless, of course, without the spirit, but why should you not start busy hives full of the spiritual nectar?”
Swami Sri Yukteswar

Dear Friend,

Wishing you peace and joy in this new year from all your friends here at Kansas City Meditation Group (KCMG). Looking back at what has been accomplished in the 10 years since establishing the permanent hive in Kansas City, we are very grateful to all of you who helped make it possible. Because of your support over the years, we were able to quickly achieve the goals of paying off the mortgage on the building, replacing the sidewalk and back parking lot, and installing the beautiful altar from Encinitas.

We are now looking to the future. As Self Realization Fellowship (SRF) has increased their on-line presence with weekly inspirational talks, meditations, and Convocation, we have begun to incorporate these inspirational services as a part of our services at the chapel. The final Sunday of every month is now designated as “Video Sunday”, in which we share an inspirational talk from an SRF monastic as part of our Sunday service. We also live-streamed several services from the recent SRF World Convocation at our chapel. KCMG members gathered together to enjoy these services together and share in fellowship.

One member recently commented: “I felt immense gratitude for the opportunity to attend the online Convocation at the chapel. I am unable to travel to Convocation now, and the chapel is a refuge to me. We were sharing something so sacred. I feel it when we have the chance to meditate together. It was perfect! I am eternally grateful.”

Currently, the services are displayed on a television screen in the sanctuary. This involves the rolling in of an unwieldy stand and TV which are not tall or large enough to be seen from the back of the sanctuary, and the TV presents audio difficulties as well.

So, to further upgrade our worship services, the next phase of improvements involves purchasing and installing a ceiling-mounted projector and a dropdown ceiling screen.

The proposed screen and projector will yield many benefits:

  • Better viewing on larger screen of inspirational services.
  • Ability to control volume through existing audio control system and routed through chapel speakers.
  • Utilization of the “Listen” device headphone sets for the hearing impaired.
  • Ability to stream and conduct Zoom meetings with the entire congregation.
  • Simpler and easier set-up.

It is our hope that in the not-too-distant future we will have the funds to purchase the screen and projector.  However, we need your assistance.  If you are able to help us reach this goal of $8,700.00, we invite you to make a tax-deductible donation.

Simply mark the memo line of your check “Projector/Screen” or click this online button.

Please know that if you are unable to give currently, we deeply appreciate all the other ways you support KCMG. Your prayers, service, meditation, and countless acts of kindness all contribute greatly to Paramahansaji’s mission and growing our spiritual hive.

In divine friendship,

Kansas City Meditation Group
